The Dunstable in Winter Art Trail was launched on Wednesday 15th December.
Dunstable Cultural Consortium was delighted to meet with Dunstable’s Mayor, Councillor Gloria Martin, who cut the ribbon and declared the trail live. This is the first of many exciting projects The Consortium has planned for the next two years.
There will be six winners, first and second in each category (Children, Young Adults and Adults), who will attend a presentation ceremony with the Mayor in January. The entries will be on display until 22nd January 2022 – plenty of time to get out and vote for your favourites.
Dunstable in Winter was organised by Jan Drury and Joanne Bowes of The Workhouse art gallery in Dunstable. The competition was open to all locals to produce whatever they wanted to put on a provided canvas, on the theme of Dunstable in Winter.
The trail is all easily walkable and based around the centre of Dunstable. People can use an online map, or a leaflet to help them find all 53 entries, which are on public display in shopfronts.
You can vote for your favourite in each category using the form on the leaflets, or online using the QR code on the leaflet. It is part of the wider scheme to improve Dunstable’s high street and to get people out and about, supporting local businesses and back in love with their high street.
