The Warden Abbey Vineyard team popped the cork on a bottle of Warden Abbey Brut 2015 at the end of September at their volunteer session, when they heard it had achieved a bronze medal at international level in the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards.
The judges awarded it 89 points out of 100, just one short of a silver medal.
The wine was made for Warden Abbey by Litmus Wines at Denbies in Surrey, from a blend of our Reichensteiner (45%) Muller Thurgau (30%) and Regner (25%) grapes.
The special edition had an extended ageing on the lees – 42 months – which has added toasty aromas and greater depth of flavour.
