There is an opportunity to access Government funding for the provision of Changing Places Toilets (CPTs) in Central Bedfordshire. As part of this, Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) want to know where users think the best locations are.
We need to hear from both those residents who currently make use of CPTs and/or would use them if they were provided, and from businesses/venues who would like to be considered to accommodate a CPT.
In making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work, we are keen to identify priority locations for the development of CPTs, which enable anyone, regardless of their ability, to go to the shops, attend hospital appointments, enjoy community life, socialise and travel – all the things that most of us take for granted every day.
People with profound and multiple learning disabilities or with physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis often need extra equipment and space to allow them to use the toilets safely and comfortably. CPTs should be provided in addition to standard accessible toilets.
Visit the Central Bedfordshire Consultations page on the CBC website to have your say.
