Supporting National Carers Week 2024

Carers Week, taking place from 10–16 June 2024, is the UK-wide awareness campaign seeking to help carers access support and to increase their visibility among decision makers, services, employers, communities, and businesses.

Visit Beds RCC’s Your Wellbeing Bedfordshire website to find details of organisations, groups and services useful all year round – including our Village and Community Agents and our network of Good Neighbour groups.

Village and Community Agents can help carers access financial or other support you may be eligible for, including helping you to fill in the application forms. Good Neighbour volunteers may be able to help with day to day things to give free up some of carers’ precious time, such as collecting prescriptions and shopping.

Carers UK report that there are millions of people across the UK who care, unpaid, for a friend or family member who – due to illness, disability, a mental health condition or addiction – cannot cope without their support. It is estimated that carers save the economy £162 million a year – the equivalent of a second NHS.
