Beds RCC announces that Tracy Cowan will be stepping down from her role as Chief Executive at the end of May, after six and a half years of remarkable growth under her leadership.
Since joining Beds RCC in 2018, Tracy has played a pivotal role in transforming the organisation, driving new projects, expanding its impact and strengthening its mission.Ā She actively involved all staff and Trustees in forming the Strategic Plan, agreeing our values and strategic objectives for the benefit of Bedfordshire residents.Ā Under her leadership, we have grown our Community Wellbeing service, including becoming the key delivery partner for Social Prescribing across Bedford and Central Bedfordshire.Ā When she ensured we acquired a set of Community Halls in Dunstable, this enabled local community engagement and development.Ā The addition of new projects has created new roles which have doubled the size of the organisation to just under 100 staff.
Reflecting on her time at Beds RCC, Tracy shared:
“Leading this incredible charity has been an absolute privilege. The journey has been full of challenges, achievements and inspiring moments, and I am so proud of what we have built together. While leaving is bittersweet, I know that Beds RCC is in a strong position for the future, and I look forward to seeing its continued success.”
The Board of Trustees expressed their deep gratitude for Tracyās dedication and impact. All Trustees have commented that she will be very much missed.Ā Paula Grayson, Chair of the Board, said:

Recruitment for a new Chief Executive is being planned to ensure a smooth transition as the charity continues its mission to build, connect and serve our communities wellbeing and the environment.
