Two dedicated volunteers from the M.E.E.T. group, Aadil and Farad, were recently honoured with an invitation to the prestigious Lord Lieutenant’s Garden Party during Volunteers’ Week. The event, hosted by the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, celebrated the remarkable contributions of volunteers across the county.
Farad shared his happiness at representing the group:
“It was a great privilege to be able to attend the volunteers’ garden party hosted by the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire. I felt immense pride in representing our M.E.E.T. group and my team as a whole. A huge ‘thank you’ to Beds RCC for all their continued support and encouragement.”
Aadil echoed the sentiment, reflecting on the inspiring atmosphere of the day:
“It was a great honour to attend the Volunteer Garden Party. The event was a wonderful celebration of the diverse and inspiring volunteer work taking place across the county. It was amazing to see so many different volunteers from around Bedfordshire representing their groups and sharing the impactful work they’re doing in their communities.”
He added,
“It was great to connect with others who share our passion for mental health. Hearing how different groups are addressing challenges in this space was both insightful and inspiring. I want to thank Beds RCC for the amazing opportunity and their continued support of the M.E.E.T Group.”
The event served as a powerful reminder of the strength found in community and the importance of supporting one another. At M.E.E.T., creating safe spaces for men to talk, connect and support each other remains at the heart of their mission to improve mental wellbeing.
