Congratulations to Oakley Good Neighbours who joined with local businesses this week to host a fantastic Summer Social in aide of Breast Cancer Now – raising awareness and an impressive £276 for this important cause.
Attractions included a book and craft sale and a uniform stall – plus the chance for both adults and children to enjoy a special, free crafts session courtesy of Bee&Bottle Ceramics. All of course with plenty of tea, coffee and cake.
Oakley Good Neighbours launched this Spring with support from Beds RCC, becoming Bedford Borough’s thirteenth Good Neighbour group – a very lucky number for all Oakley residents needing a bit of occasional extra help with things like shopping, prescription collecting or a lift to the doctors.
Beds RCC’s work with Good Neighbour groups in the Borough this year has been made possible thanks to funding from the Harpur Trust.
