Community Connectors
The Community Connector project covers Flitwick in Central Bedfordshire and Queens Park, Kingsbrook and Cauldwell in Bedford.
This pilot project is funded by the NHS through BLMK and is aimed at addressing health inequalities. It does this by working directly with local people and services to raise awareness of, and access to, local health services in the community.
Within the localities, we have identified ‘health advocates’ to become part of a trusted network; they receive monthly national and local health and wellbeing news. Our health advocates then share this information with their colleagues, service users, customers, patients and others as they see fit, and in a format that is most accessible to them.
