Return of the Soup Lunch in Shortstown in October

The Shortstown Soup lunch had been running pre-covid for around two years. Before the pandemic hit the club ran a very successful club meeting on the second Monday of the month. The club was vibrant and busy with elderly residents attending from Shortstown, Cardington and Cotton End. For a small amount of money resident were given a hot bowl of soup, roll and cake and tea & coffee.

The pandemic closed the club down and many elderly residents were upset. Since July the club has been running a coffee/tea/cake meet, the purpose of which was to help the elderly residents get back to the club they all loved slowly. The good news is that now the organisers can re-introduce the soup lunch with the first one on 11th October 2021 from 12 noon to 2pm.

Wendy Worgan the BRCC Village Agent attends most of the meetings and is there to offer help & information about services, help available and benefit advice.
