Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity has been nominated in the Bedford Independent Everyday Hero Awards in the ‘Covid Hero – Team’ category.
The Bedford Independent Everyday Heroes Awards 2021, in partnership with the Harpur Trust, are celebrating those who make Bedford brilliant. Nominations closed on 4th March 2022, and we are pleased to announce that our charity was one of the groups nominated.
Bedford Independent describe the categories as offering the “chance for a wide range of people to be recognised, celebrating everyone from a young achiever to a fundraiser, from those who raise the profile of the town to an unsung hero.”
Due to the disruption Covid-19 continues to cause to everyday life, the awards ceremony features two categories that recognise people and teams who have gone that extra mile to help those in need during times of great uncertainty. BRCC have been nominated for one of these categories: ‘Covid Hero – Team’.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, our services and projects have provided fantastic service to those who are most vulnerable, including our Community Wellbeing Champions, Village Agents, and Community Transport.
There will be a night of celebration involving a reception and awards ceremony on Thursday 28th April, hosted by Bedford School.
We were pleased to win gold at the SME National Business Awards in 2021 for the Community Business of the Year Award category, and our Community Rail and Vineyard are among the award-winning groups at BRCC.
