Warden Abbey Vineyard’s 2019 sparkling wine has been featured in the Vineyard Magazine’s wine reviews by wine writer Matthew Jukes.
Matthew Jukes is a wine writer for the Vineyard Magazine and has worked in the UK wine business for over thirty-five years. He has been writing about wine for over two decades and has published fourteen wine books.
This is Warden Abbey Vineyard’s second feature in the Vineyard Magazine this year, as they featured in an article titled ‘Agreeable Symmetry‘ which shares about the past, present, and future of the vineyard and how it impacts local community.
Matthew shared his delight in receiving our wines from vineyard manager Tim Taylor and praises the charity project for its ‘noble set-up … [which] happens to craft jolly tasty wines too’. He describes the wine as:
Made from 43% Muller Thurgau, 39% Reichensteiner and 18% Bacchus, and fermented and bottled by the wizards at Halfpenny Green, it is balanced and charming, with an admirable level of flair and panache. I like the fact that it is a considered sparkler that does not need to rely on Chardonnay or the Pinots for complexity and class.
