Good Neighbour Schemes Support Officer

Full time 35hpw; salary (SCP17)

12 months, with possible extension subject to funding.

Are you a great ‘people-person’ with excellent communication skills? Would you like to be part of something new within an established and respected charity? We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Support Officer to help assist and develop our Network of Good Neighbour Schemes (GNS). The successful candidate will support Network member groups in recruiting and equipping volunteers to providing community-level support to local residents.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful you will need to be a motivated friendly person with good communication, organisation and IT skills; and have the ability to work effectively individually and collaboratively with a wide range of community groups, volunteers and colleagues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting existing GNS’s
  • Setting up new GNS’s
  • Supporting the recruitment and equipping of new GNS volunteers
  • Creating surveys and analysing responses
  • Promoting the work of the GNS

We need candidates to have:

  • Great communication skills – written, oral and online
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • A desire to help communities and individuals thrive
  • Full driving license, own vehicle and ability/willingness to travel throughout Bedfordshire including occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time, although will consider Part-time. 1 year fixed term contract.
