Christmas shopping is a great opportunity to support small businesses and celebrate local produce, and Warden Abbey Vineyard’s annual Christmas Wine Sale on Sunday 3rd December is the perfect place to get started. This year the sale will take place at Haynes Village Hall from 11am – 4pm.
Warden Abbey Vineyard will be offering tasters of their still and sparkling Bedfordshire wines so you can try before you buy. Our 2019 Sparkling Wine was recently selected at one of the top UK wines for 2023 by Matthew Jukes a notable wine reviewer and writer for Vineyard Magazine. Nestled between Old Warden and Cardington, the grapes grown for Warden Abbey’s wine are tended to by a team of volunteers overseen by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity. The Christmas Wine Sale is just one of many events run by the volunteers throughout the year to raise funds and keep the vineyard as a unique resource for the local community.
You will also be able to purchase vineyard merchandise, membership, donate a vine and tour tickets for 2024 from the vineyard stall, which all make great gifts for wine lovers and ecologists and help to fund the ongoing costs that keep the project going. You can also sign up for volunteering in 2024, with our pruning season starting in January.
Alongside the vineyard, other local food and craft stalls will be joining them so you can get Christmas presents sorted for your family and friends, whatever they love. Stalls include Silsoe Glass, Willow Tree Gin, and Kelchner Brewery.
Entry and parking is free and there will be a free mince pie for customers (whilst stocks last) to say ‘thank you’ for your supporting the community vineyard. See you there on 3rd December at Haynes Village Hall, Northwood End Rd, Haynes, Bedford, MK45 3QB.
