M.E.E.T. (Men, Exercise, Engage, Talk) Shortlisted for Self-Care Forum’s Innovation Awards

We are delighted to announce that our M.E.E.T. project has been shortlisted in the top eight entries for the annual Self-Care Innovation Awards by Self-Care Forum. These awards are judged by individuals with years of experience and knowledge in the health and public health sector, and to be among some amazing projects in the top eight entries is an honour.

Self-Care Innovation Award judge David Skinner, CEO of the International Self-Care Foundation said:

ā€œThe entries for the 2023 Awards have been very impressive. The efforts made to implement self-care projects and measure their impact clearly demonstrates a growing strength of commitment to self-care and its contribution to healthcare and personal wellbeing.ā€

Congratulations to The Care Forum for winning with its WellAware Health and Wellbeing IAG Network. A Bristol-based charity, The Care Forum helps to support health and wellbeing through its wide-ranging social prescription and information programme which engages and empowers people.

M.E.E.T. (Men, Exercise, Engage, Talk) is a social group for 18-35 year old men, which aims to support mental wellbeing. It gives men of this age group the opportunity to get active together, engage with garden activities and support one other in a relaxed, open space.

M.E.E.T. takes place every two weeks on Sunday afternoons from 12pm at Golden Garden in Goldington, Bedford. The sessions feature different activities, such as gardening and building projects, as well as a walk to Priory Country Park for fitness and exercise.
