To celebrate Volunteers Week 2023 His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire Susan Lousada held a garden party for volunteers from organisations in Bedfordshire on Tuesday 6th June.
Among the volunteers invited to the event, Beds RCC volunteers from the Friends of Ridgmont, Bedford St Johns and Lidlington Stations, Warden Abbey Vineyard, and Dunstable Community Halls’ Garden Group were in attendance.

The afternoon was spent enjoying treats including finger sandwiches, scones and cakes in a lovely garden setting, and it was a great opportunity for volunteers from a wide range of organisations to share stories and learn more about what amazing voluntary work is done in Bedfordshire.
The Lord Lieutenant tweeted after the event:
What a great way to celebrate #VolunteersWeek2023 with a Garden Party for all the wonderful volunteers in Bedfordshire. It was a lovely way to say a huge thank you for their selfless contributions and the difference they make to other people’s lives #ThankYou #volunteering
