Beds RCC are saying a huge thank you to all their volunteers this Volunteers’ Week
2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1st-7th June), when our charity will join thousands of other charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. This year’s theme is ‘Celebrate and Inspire’, so we want to use the week as an opportunity to say ‘Thank You’ to all of our existing volunteers, and inspire you to get involved in new ways.
The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important.
This Volunteers’ Week we are celebrating with the launch of our Paint-by-Numbers mural at Dunstable Community Halls. Our Community Garden Officer Emma Lacy and the garden volunteers have designed a large outdoor mural for volunteers and local residents to paint on Friday 2nd June to brighten up the new community garden.
It’s been fantastic to have people come along and leave their mark on the mural, which is going to make such a difference to our new garden. The mural is a lovely wellbeing activity for people to get involved in, and it’s been a great opportunity to show people the garden at the same time.
