A huge thank you goes to all of our county’s Health Walk leaders for their volunteering over the last year.
It has been an extraordinary and very difficult time for group walks through Covid lockdowns with restrictions on walker numbers and social distancing, yet our walk leaders have shown great patience and adaptability.
Some have been keeping walks going when possible and others have kept in touch with walkers while their walks have not been operating, even to the extent of one group producing chatty newsletters for (and with) their walkers.
We are now seeing light at the end of a very long tunnel. Several health walk groups have relaunched or are planning to in the near future – though abiding to current restrictions – and this is proving very welcome to their walkers, many of whom have been isolated for many months.
