Village and community halls located in Tier 4 areas were required to close from Sunday 20 December.
Restrictions similar to those seen during the national lockdown have been introduced in the new Tier 4 areas.
The closures are in response to the rapid spread of the new variant of COVID-19 and Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) don’t expect affected areas, including Bedfordshire, to move out of Tier 4 for some time.
Further areas may move into Tier 4.
The charity has also published various information and briefings throughout 2020 to support rural communities during the pandemic.
