Life is better with Borough Good Neighbours – it’s official!
Results are in from our 2026 survey of some of the many Borough residents who have support from Good Neighbour volunteers – and it is great news.
Respondents from across the rural Borough rated their quality of life before they had Good Neighbour volunteers to call on; and then rated it again now that they do. Their rating was based on three criteria: ability to get out and about to access services and events; being able to maintain independence in their own home; and having people within reach for help, info or company when needed.
For all three criteria, when people were having to manage on their own, the majority rated their lives at the lowest end of the scale, represented in shades of red, amber or yellow – where they were being blocked from going to places they needed to be or from doing what they needed to do. However, now they have Good Neighbour support, the majority of people have rated their quality of life at the higher end of the scale, giving their lives the green light – now able to go ahead with getting things done and taking part more fully within community life.
